A bright new smile faster than you thought!
Your smile is one of the first things people notice about you, but stained and discolored teeth can put a damper on your desire to show it off. For patients who want a fast, effective and safe alternative to over the counter whitening strips, Zoom! whitening may be the choice for you.
Zoom! Whitening is recognized as one of the most effective whitening treatments available today. The entire process is safely overseen and administered in office or by take home kits from your dentist. The in-office process can take as little as 45 minutes and produce results of up to 8 times whiter, making it a smart choice for busy patients.
Tru Family Dental is excited to offer this service for our patients looking for a whitening option that’s effective, safe and fast.
How Zoom! Whitening treatments work
The Zoom in-office teeth whitening procedure involves two main components: a 25 percent hydrogen peroxide gel and the Zoom Advanced Chairside Lamp. Once applied to the teeth, the gel breaks down, allowing oxygen to enter the surface and bleach the enamel and dentin without affecting the overall structure of the tooth. The lamp helps the peroxide better penetrate your teeth, leading to better results — and much whiter teeth than you’d get with peroxide alone.
The most frequent questions about Zoom! Whitening treatments
Are Zoom teeth whitening treatments safe? Yes! Whitening procedures — especially those done in a dentist’s office (like Zoom) — are the safest way to cosmetically enhance your teeth. However, it’s not recommended for pregnant women or children under 13.
How is Zoom different from whitening treatments sold in stores? The biggest difference is the amount of time it takes. Zoom treatments take less than an hour and result in visibly whiter teeth, while it takes several days (or even weeks) to see results with at-home kits.
Are Zoom treatments painful? Some patients do report some mild tooth discomfort and sensitivity to cold after a Zoom procedure, but those side effects typically go away within one to three days.
What can I expect during my Zoom in-office treatment? Your dental team will prepare your mouth for treatment by first covering your lips and gums, leaving only your teeth exposed. Then, they’ll add the Zoom hydrogen peroxide gel to your teeth and then activate it with the light for 15 minutes. All you have to do is sit back, relax and wait for brighter teeth!
Are the results permanent? Yes, you can expect to maintain whiter teeth as long as you follow proper post-care guidelines. We recommend brushing with the Zoom whitening toothpaste, along with regular flossing, dental cleanings and periodic touch-ups with the take-home Zoom gel.
How much do Zoom whitening treatments cost? The average cost of Zoom whitening treatments in the United States is $500, but your actual cost will depend on a variety of factors. It’s best to call one of our offices for an accurate cost estimate.
